Some of my favorite recipes...

One of the best ways to get the most use out of your oils is to use them in recipes!  The following recipes are my personal favorites.  If you haven't had experience making recipes using essential oils, I strongly suggest you look for a "Make and Take" class near you.  They're pretty good at showing you how to keep it easy and less messy.  And, making stuff with others is always more fun than by yourself.  Especially if it's in someone else's house (no mess for you!).

Baby Wipes

We ran out of wipes once. Mid diaper change, the wipes ran out, and I lost my mind. Who knew that you could make your own in less than 5 minutes?? Less irritating, actually effective, and I daresay they seem to have cut down on the diaper rashes during those "extra stinky" days! I *love* my new baby wipes. FYI, they're also super effective for cleaning hands and faces, high chairs, and other surfaces after messy meals. I usually double this batch so that I have two containers ready to go at all times.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups water

  • 1/2 Tbsp castile soap (buy this at Walmart/Target/grocery store)

  • 1 Tbsp aloe vera gel (buy this at Walmart/Target/grocery store)

  • 1 Tbsp witch hazel (buy this at Walmart/Target/grocery store)

  • 1 Tbsp avocado oil (buy this at Walmart/Target/grocery store)

  • 1/8 tsp vitamin e

  • 6 drops lavender

  • 6 drops tea tree

Directions

  1. Place paper towels (I recommend Viva brand) or napkins (Vanity brand is super soft) in a glass or plastic container (an old wipes container happens to be perfect for this). If using paper towels, fold them accordion-style into the container. If using napkins, grab a handful and set inside making sure they're easily removed one at a time (don't fold in half as a bunch...you only need one wipe at a time).

  2. Mix all ingredients in a bowl and stir. Don't whisk, and don't try to short cut your way with a blender. We're not looking to make bubbles here.

  3. Slowly pour the mixture into the container with your napkins/paper towels until thoroughly moistened. Pour extra into the bottom of the container.

  4. Clean that baby.
